Located in the heart of the Ningbo Yinzhou Southern CBD Portal Area, the Civic Center and the Exhibition Center is a pair of two complementary buildings.

The design incorporates the Chinese philosophy of yin & yang. The two buildings with contrary appearances actually give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. Many of the tangible dualities of yin and yang are manifested through the buildings’ forms. The Exhibition Center displays a feel of translucence and lightness while the Civic Center delivers solidness and steadiness. The two buildings adopt the same compositional language as both of them similarly comprise of the core and the shell. However they are constructed of different materials with contrary colors.
